Do we have to switch our EHR to work with CareMax?
No. We integrate with 40+ EHR and practice management platforms and work inside the system your team already knows. Onboarding is designed around your existing workflow, not a migration.
How is CareMax priced?
Revenue cycle management is percentage-based with zero setup fees — we are paid when you are paid. Advisory engagements (vCISO, vCFO, Managed IT) are scoped as fixed monthly retainers so there are no surprises.
What exactly does a vCISO do that our IT vendor does not?
Your IT vendor keeps systems running. A vCISO owns the security program: risk assessments, policy, vendor reviews, incident response planning, framework alignment and board-level reporting. It is a leadership role, not a support role.
Can we start with billing only and add services later?
Yes, and most clients do. Revenue cycle management is the foundation. Security, IT and vCFO services layer on when you are ready — each one gets easier because we already understand your data.
How do you handle HIPAA and patient data?
Every workflow uses 256-bit encryption, least-privilege access and documented safeguards. We sign a BAA, maintain security policies aligned to the HIPAA Security Rule and NIST CSF, and can produce evidence during an audit.
How long does onboarding take?
Most practices are submitting claims through CareMax within two to three weeks. Credentialing timelines depend on the payer, and we track every application to approval so nothing stalls silently.
